Fra Angelico: Colour Library Details

Each title contains 48 full-page colour plates, accompanied by extensive notes, and numerous comparative illustrations in colour or black and white, a concise introduction, select bibliography and detailed source information for the images. Monographs on individual artists also feature a brief chronology.
Reviews
This is a good starter book that can be purchased inexpensively as a used book so gives a nice "taste" of Fra Angelico's work. There are 48 color plates and 36 black and white plates. I find the color in the plates to be good. I especially like the plates from San Marco and Cortona. However, I am giving the book 4 stars instead of 5 as I think the book could have been better organized: for starters, it has no table of contents, just several pages of introductory text (which themselves are somewhat artsy and opaque in content) followed by the plates; also the author never specifically states how the selected plates were chosen -- presumably as a selected survey illustrating certain aspects of Fra Angelico's technique.
