About the Author Georges Sebbag was born in Marrakesh in 1942; in 1964 he met André Breton and took part in activities of the Surrealist group. Between 1967 and 2002 he taught philosophy and has written many books on surrealism and philosophy. He is co-editor of The International Encyclopaedia of Surrealism (Bloomsbury, 2019); Dr Julia Drost is research director at the German Centre for History of Art in Paris; she has written extensively about Surrealism and Max Ernst; Art historian and curator Dr Dimitri Ozerkov is director of the Department of Contemporary Art at the State Hermitage Museum.
