Thiebaud Selects Thiebaud: A Forty-Year Survey from Private Collections Details
Documents an exhibition of 69 works of Wayne Thiebaud (and selected by the artist), which represent the range of his artistic interests over the last 40 years: still lifes, figure studies, landscapes, and cityscapes. The one person show was held at the Crocker Art Museum in Sacramento, Calif.; 33 selections from the show are reproduced in color plates. There is also a nine-page interview with Thiebaud in which he describes his beginnings, his artistic process, and his technical expertise as a painter and draftsperson.
